AI @ L+R
When we say AI, we mean something specific — and something broader than you'd expect.
Applied Imagation
We've been doing this since 2012. Not AI as a trend — Applied Imagination as a practice. Bringing design and technology together on problems that don't have established playbooks. When the tools caught up to the thinking, we were ready.
We also mean the technology.
Artificial intelligence. Spatial computing. Wearables. Connected devices. We've been designing and engineering in these domains for over a decade — not because they were hot, but because they were hard and interesting and where the world was going.
That's what we mean by a studio for emerging technology.

Applied Imagination Review
Since 2024 we've published an annual print journal for leaders navigating the same forces our clients build products inside of. Business strategy. Design. Emerging technology. No trend reports. No hot takes. Perspectives worth keeping. Volume 3 is out now.
How We Work
Every discipline in the studio uses AI. Research, strategy, design, engineering, operations. We work across Claude, GPT-4, Gemini, and others — and we're always evaluating what's next.
This site runs on AI-assisted workflows. So do our client projects. The products we build for clients are often AI products themselves.
We don't use these tools to go faster. We use them to go further. There's a difference.
