A silly, yet functional tooth brushing coach, built for Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses

The Platform

Ray-Ban Display glasses embed a transparent display directly in the lens, projecting information into your line of sight without blocking what's in front of you. Think of it as a heads-up display you wear all day. Paired with the Meta Neural Band worn on the wrist, they respond to simple hand gestures — no touchscreen, no voice commands, no reaching for anything. It's a computer you wear, not one you carry.

Brush Coach Is Built For

Anyone who brushes their teeth (which should be everyone)

Most people rush it, skip sections, or lose count entirely. Brush Coach is for anyone who wants to actually brush well without staring at a timer on their phone in the bathroom mirror.

Solution

A brushing coach that knows what you are doing

Brush Coach uses the accelerometer built into the Ray-Ban Display glasses to detect and register your brushing motion in real time. No tapping, no input, no hands needed. It counts for you and tells you when to move to the next section of your mouth.

Wear your glasses, start brushing, follow the guide
How Brush Coach works

The app divides your mouth into sections and walks you through each one in sequence. The glasses read your brushing motion through the accelerometer, registering strokes as you go and prompting you to move on when each section is done. The full routine guides you through every part of your mouth without skipping, rushing, or guessing. Put on your glasses, pick up your toothbrush, and let it run.

About L+R Baseplates

An open-source starting point from our team

This is a Baseplate application — one of dozens of open-source foundations built by L+R as part of our alpha partnership with Meta on the Ray-Ban Display platform. Baseplates aren't always finished products. They're minimal, readable, and forkable. Built to show what's possible and give developers a working foundation to learn from and build on.
