The Meta Wearables Device Access Toolkit is Meta’s SDK for building apps that run on the whole Meta glasses family: Ray-Ban Meta Display, Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, and Meta AI glasses. It gives developers access to the camera, microphone, speakers and AI assistant on the device, and on Ray-Ban Meta Display it also drives display UI components: text, images, lists, buttons and video playback.

L+R was an early partner on Meta’s Wearables Device Access Toolkit, before general availability, and was named alongside Disney, Logitech and Microsoft as first partners for Meta’s AI Glasses SDK.

We use it to build native glasses apps, extend existing mobile products onto the glasses, and design hands-free experiences around voice and first-person vision.

L+R's Ray-Ban Display Simulator

We built displayglasses.dev so developers can see how a web app reads on Ray-Ban Meta Display without owning a pair. It reproduces the additive waveguide blend over real-world background scenes, which is what determines whether your interface is legible in a bright street or a dim room.

Load any URL into the simulated heads-up display, adjust its position, size and brightness, swap the background scene, capture or record the result, and preview it on a phone or on the glasses themselves via a QR code. It is free to use.

It exists because we needed it. That is also the shortest answer to whether we have worked inside this platform.

Our Open-Source Toolkit Plugin for Flutter

Reaching the glasses from a Flutter app means bridging to Meta’s native toolkit on iOS and Android first. Every team building this way has to do that work before it can build anything interesting, so we did it once and published it.

flutter_meta_wearables_dat is an MIT-licensed Flutter plugin, live on pub.dev, that wraps the Meta Wearables Device Access Toolkit for both platforms. It handles device registration, camera permissions, live video streaming, and raw frame access, which is the foundation any camera or vision feature on the glasses is built on.

It is free, the source is public, and it is the code we build with. If your team is evaluating whether a Flutter product can reach Meta glasses, that question can be answered by reading it.
