Ray-Ban Display glasses embed a transparent display directly in the lens, projecting information into your line of sight without blocking what's in front of you. Think of it as a heads-up display you wear all day. Paired with the Meta Neural Band worn on the wrist, they respond to simple hand gestures, with no touchscreen, voice commands, or reaching for anything. It's a computer you wear, not one you carry.

Backyard cooks working over live heat
Anyone grilling, smoking, or barbecuing while their hands are busy, the sun is washing out their phone, and the next step matters. Grill Master is for cooks who need one clear cue at a time, from lighting the fire through the final pull temperature, without turning dinner into a dashboard.

A cooking coach that keeps the next action in view
Grill Master turns the Ray-Ban Display lens into a hands-free cook coach for hot-and-fast grilling, low-and-slow smoking, and backyard BBQ. The app asks one question per screen, carries each answer into the cook, and keeps the most important instruction in the corner of your eye. It knows whether you are searing ribeye, monitoring brisket, or running ribs through a timed BBQ sequence.

Choose how you’re cooking, the fuel you’re using, and what’s on the grill. Grill Master builds a live plan around the cook, then surfaces one cue at a time, from lighting the fire and setting a timer to flipping, wrapping, spritzing, and pulling at temperature. Timing, target temperatures, and recovery prompts stay in view while your hands remain on the food and tools.

An open-source starting point from our team
This is a Baseplate application - one of dozens of open-source foundations built by L+R as part of our alpha partnership with Meta on the Ray-Ban Display platform. Baseplates are not always finished products. They are minimal, readable, and forkable. Built to show what is possible and give developers a working foundation to learn from and build on.
Grill Master shows how smart glasses can support real-world tasks where attention, timing, and safety are all in motion. The broader challenge is designing for moments when a traditional screen is physically inconvenient, visually compromised, or simply the wrong surface. L+R brings strategy, product design, technical execution, and meticulous craft together so emerging hardware becomes practical in the places people actually use it. For cooking, that means one clear cue, exactly when it matters.
